ATTENTION: The game must be played in fullscreen!

"Color'Em Up" is my entry for the Mini Jam 62: Colors.

You control an airship and you have to survive as much as you can, but the enemies won't make that easy (and it will be more and more difficult as time passes because enemies will spawn faster).

You have a barrier that will modify your shots, changing their color. Some enemies can be defeated by all colors, but other can only be taken down with their specific color.

But the barrier is not only an attacking tool, it can help you too blocking the enemy bullets of that color!

How long can you last? Will you be able to beat your highscores?!

Score:

You gain (or lose) points for the following actions:

  • Destroying an enemy (+)
  • New wave of enemies spawned (+)
  • Getting hit (-)

Controls:

  • Ship movement: WASD
  • Barrier rotation: Left & Right arrows
  • Shoot: Up arrow

Development:

The game was created in 48 hours (It started friday 6am for me and I had to work that day).

All the assets (apart from the sound) were created by me during the jam time. The code was started from scratch during this time and no previous code from other projects was reused.

The game has some sounds for some of the most important actions (shooting, destroying ships or getting destroyed) but audio is still a field that is too unknown for me.
